Hit and Run Driver Faces Murder Charges
A driver that has been accused of causing a fatal collision with a bicycle rider in Ventura, California is facing charges for DUI, second degree murder and
hit and run. According to prosecutors, the driver had a blood alcohol concentration of .39% at the time of the accident, nearly five times the legal limit to operate a motor vehicle in California. He stands accused of driving colliding with and killing a bicyclist while driving his Hummer and then speeding from the scene at 80 miles per hour. The defendant is currently out on bail and is scheduled for arraignment on January 18, 2012.
